Youth head to Blue Theology Mission Station for Spring Break
Spring Break Mission Trip Middle & High School youth will visit Blue Theology Mission Station, located in Monterey, California, over spring break, March 24-30. $395/person
Our goal is to immerse ourselves in a new community, to work directly with the people of this community, to contribute toward the betterment of each community we visit. We aim to deepen our understanding of being a Christian in this world, deepen our relationships with one another and with God, and to make this world a better place. In the past we have built homes in Mexico and stayed on the Yakama Reservation doing farm work and community building.
The Christian Church in Pacific Grove offers meaningful service projects and energetic learning experiences, realizing that through fun and inspiring programming we are creating Blue Theologians, who are advocates for a healthy ocean. This is our profound investment into the future health of the ocean.
Learning: The Blue Theology Mission Station partners with local educational organizations focused on marine biology. We also offer a program that encourages faith formation through reflection and creativity.
Serving: Hands on projects include beach clean ups, sand dune restoration, and scientific data collection. Groups are challenged to explore ways to promote ocean stewardship in their home communities.
Fun: There are several opportunities to mix learning & fun, including add-on kayak trips, whale watching, and more.
**Fundraising and Organizational support are needed before we go.
Help us Fundraise! We are collecting Bottles & Cans.
Pick up a FCC sponsored “blue bag” at the back of the sanctuary or in the church office during the week. Fill it up with your collected cans and bottles and drop it off at the Bottle Drop center located at 2015 West Broadway.
Final payments for the trip are due in the church office by Friday, March 23.
